Spat out by the water, on the beach, slipped into a drawer, at the supermarket, on desks, in closets. Often a pair of gloves.

“Even when empty, they bear the imprint of my absent hand. They are remnants, an embodied memory.”

Stripped of their function, they become material for stories, silhouettes to be deciphered. Between skin and surface, inside and out, these objects become portals—fragments of intimacy, thresholds to silent narratives, where use gives way to the poetry of form.
Fascinated by these traces of human gesture, by these deposited, removed, and abandoned pieces, Andrea began secretly photographing them, tracking the shapes left to chance: fingers stuck together, worn, twisted.
Close encounters of the hand and glove is the continuation of this work. Hand in hand with Agathe Cotte, this multifaceted, collective publishing project around these finger-envelopes was born.

Craché par l’eau, sur la plage, glissés dans un tiroir, au supermarché, sur les bureaux, dans les placards. Souvent une paire de gants.

“Même vides, ils portent l’empreinte de ma main absente. Ce sont des restes, une mémoire incarnée.”

Délaissés de leur fonction, ils deviennent matière à récit, silhouettes à déchiffrer. Entre peau et surface, dedans et dehors, ces objets deviennent des portails fragments d’intime, seuils vers des narrations silencieuses, où l’usage cède la place à la poésie de la forme.
Fascinée par ces vestiges du geste humain, par ces pièces déposées, retirées et laissées, Andrea commence à les photographier en secret, traquant leur forme laissée au hasard : doigts collés, usés, tordus.
